When it comes to treating athletes and providing sports chiropractic care, Dr. Kyle DePollar has always had a passion. He was a collegiate basketball player at Southern Vermont College, where he graduated with a BS in Biological Sciences and a Minor in Mathematics.
Inspired by his godfather, a chiropractor and Life University alumnus, Dr. DePollar decided to go to Life. In 2023, he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (graduated summa cum laude) and Master of Sport Health Science.

Midway through his chiropractic school journey, Dr. DePollar experienced a life-altering car accident. The aftermath left him with severe concussion, intense pain, and debilitating brain fog. Seeking relief, he turned to his godfather’s office and received an upper cervical adjustment. The room brightened, the brain fog lifted, and a renewed sense of hope washed over him. He enrolled in an upper cervical course taught by Dr. Matthew Sweat, the son of Dr. Roy Sweat, the founder of the Atlas Orthogonal (AO) technique. Here, he delved into the science behind upper cervical adjustments and learned about the instrument that administers precise forces to the Atlas vertebra.
Dr. Sweat offered him the opportunity to complete his preceptorship at his clinic. For three months, Dr. DePollar immersed himself in upper cervical chiropractic care, assisting in patient consultations, reading X-rays, and witnessing the life-changing effects of these specialized adjustments.
